Melanie - Email me.. I can't get to your blog!
HAPPY EASTER! Had another busy (and early) day today. Moira woke us up at 715, totally thrilled that the Easter Bunny left her "Shrek" in her basket. We don't do candy because of Olivia's allergies, especially since it looks like chocolate is also a problem for her. Poor damn kid. Got them all dressed up in their Easter dresses ::sigh:: gorgeous! Paul went to church with Moira while Olivia and I stopped back at my inlaws place to pick up some stuff we left there last night. Then, Olivia and I visited my Dad and StepMom. My step sister, her husband, and their daughter were also there. Paul and Moira met us there after they got out of church. The girls had so much fun playing. Around 2pm, we all headed to my Mom's place. She made a huge dinner and we ate around 330pm. My Mom got sick later in the evening and had to go lay down. By 7pm, I sent Paul and the girls home and my brother and I finished cleaning up the remains of the dinner dishes, etc. Mom was so upset she got sick so we cuddled and chatted for a while. She felt better around 8pm and managed to get up and sit for a while. Paul called me from his cell phone. A house around the corner from us caught fire. It looks like there was a lot of damage. Geez - those poor people. That really sucks.
This will be a tough Easter this year. The first Easter with Nana gone. She always made a HUGE Polish dinner. Kielbasa, pierogies, pickled beets, saurkraut, rolls, home made pies ::sigh:: I miss her.

Made it home in one piece and got the kids right into bed. Let me tell you, the turkey was DELISH! Yummy! I made an apple pie a little while ago to bring to my Mom's tomorrow. Turkey dinner there too! "Singing in the Rain" is on TV now ::sigh:: LOVE Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor. I also caught the second half of "Easter Parade" with Fred Astaire and Judy Garland. Gosh - they don't make MOVIE stars anymore, do they? Not *real* stars anyway.. in my opinion.
Ok - the link for Irish Turkey should be working now! Ok - I really have to leave! BYE!
We are off to my inlaws for Irish Turkey Yummy! Tata for now
:::groan::: Why am I awake? I'll give you a hint... 2 rugrats... Oy.

Isn't he cute?

I just had a fun chat with Shelley and her hubby Scott. They are 2 wild and crazy teachers! Hope you have fun out tonight!
Good evening! I *just* turned the computer on a few minutes ago. Super busy day. Last night we took the girls to see the Easter Bunny.. Oh my gosh, it was so cute. I will post the pic soon. We stopped at Burger King for dinner and wandered around the mall for a while. Stopped at B.Daltons and bought the girls some books. Of course, they weren't very cooperative so Paul and I just got books for them, nothing for us ::sniffle:: The girls were so excited to see such a HUGE moon last night! Gosh, it was gorgeous! I kept waiting to see ET and Elliot fly in front of it ::heehee:: Today, around 11am, I took the girls out for a walk/bike ride. Paul had the day off and was working in our bathroom, patching the wall. Moira was riding her bike and Olivia was running after her. Up and back.. up and back. Nick, one of the kids on the block, came out to play with Moira. So, the 2 of them were riding their bikes up and back. It was so cute. I brought Olivia back home around 1245 and Paul took her out back to play on the swings. I walked back up and chatted with the other Mommies on the block. Came BACK home around 130 and made lunch for the 3 of us. Moira stayed at Nick's house. Olivia was SO pooped that she went right in for her nap after lunch. That's when Paul and I got a LOT of yard work done. It was such a nice day and we really put it to good use. Needless to say, we are pooped too! Paul got Moira around 445 and we ate dinner early. The kids got the meds, a quick bath and I put on "The Emperor's New Groove" and made popcorn. They were actually QUIET and mellow. Moira kep yawning! LOL! They were both in bed by 820pm! Woohoo! Tomorrow we will be eating an early Easter dinner at my inlaws place. We will be there most of the day. I still have to make chocolates to bring over. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend!

Ok - I have been corrected. The autograph below is NOT Erin aka Gigglechick. It was from ANOTHER Erin. Now - THIS autograph SHOULD be Ms Gigglechick:

And - by the way Erin, the note you snail mailed me was addressed to "Kate" not "Katie" ::teehee::
Any Steve Burns fans out there? I found THIS link and this on Melanie's blog. He was SO darn cute! Look at him - just so cuddly!

LOL! Now - well - let's just say he looks a little .... different now. For those of you who don't know who he is, click here.
Anyone out there have autograph books when they were kids? I found mine and Erin (of Gigglechick.com fame) had signed mine. Must have been back in 1982 and we we heading into the 7th grade. Check it out below:
I am taking the girls to get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny tomorrow after Moira gets off the bus. Then, off to McD's for dinner. Ahhhh - the life.

Dudley Moore and Milton Berle So sad. RIP guys.
Paul just installed a 30GB hard drive! Wooohoooo! I had a measley 6GB before that was almost full! Niw - I am off to add some more stuff to my drive..
YAY! My comments are back!
And.. where the heck are my comments? Arrgghh!
Busy day today... have last Web Marketing class tonight. Luckily I have Friday off from school and I start back up on Wednesday. I guess I should buy my book! LOL! I will chat more later!

Ugh - this morning came too quickly. We had a power outage last night... twice. Of course I was online. Here I was, typing away.. type type type...blink.. TOTAL DARKNESS. Very creepy. My PC had to run through it's diagnostic test because it was shut off improperly. It's running...taking forever... blink.. DARKNESS again. Let me tell you it was quite frustrating. My computer finally made it through the test. I needed to reboot. It came up in safe mode. Once THAT loaded up completely, I had to reboot AGAIN! Arrgghh!

Is anyone watching "The Osbourns"? Oh my God - I have been laughing for 30 minutes straight. I love them.
I had a lovely chat with Dara earlier. Go on and check out her blog. She's a doll!
Anyone hear that Kylie Minogue song "Can't Get You Out of My Head" yet? I can't get it out of MY head. I can't decide whether I like it or not. I just saw the video - jeez - she looks a LOT different in THIS video then she did in her 1988 video "Locomotion". Last link was picked up from KylieFever.
Got the rest of my food shopping out of the way - ugh. Why do I have to food shop on the rainy days! Yuck.
OhMyGosh! I completely forgot to mention this earlier! When I left my previous employer, I filed for unemployment benefits. Long story short, I was approved and received unemployment for 6 months, which ended in October. In today's mail, I received a notice from unemployment that I qualify for temporary extended unemployment compensation!! Whoa! I filled out that form pretty damn fast and it WILL be mailed tomorrow. Let me tell ya, it WILL certainly help us out financially if I do qualify. Ok - I am jumping in the shower and going to bed.. really.. I mean it.. G'night!
I added some new reads to my blog list. It's so interesting to check out new blogs and "meet" other people. I feel a little nervous when I notice new people checking out MY blog. I always hope that they don't think I am a moron or anything.

3/25/2002

Had a good night so far. I still have a mountain of laundry to fold :::groan::: but I decided to blog and watch old SNL on Comedy Central. I can't wait to catch the new South Park on Wednesday.. looks pretty damn funny!
Hmm - how is this for odd? Both girls are watching "Star Trek - The Motion Picture". And - they are enjoying it. I prefer "The Wrath of Khan" since it portrayed Shatner at the best of his overacting. My favorite line? "Khaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnn!" Muhahahahahahaha. Plus - Ricardo Montalban certainly isn't hard on the eyes either. I could watch that over and over.. Hmm - maybe tonight.. I don't think there's anything good on anyway...

What Flavour Are You? I am Chocolate Flavoured.I am Chocolate Flavoured.

I am sweet and a little bit naughty. I am one of the few clinically proven aphrodisiacs. Sometimes I can seem a little hard, but show warmth and I soon melt. What Flavour Are You?
:::tap tap::: Hello? Is this thing on? Anyone out there? Anyone... anyone?? Bueller... Bueller... ::grin::
Michael posted this link on his blog - just in time for Easter. VERY cute!
I just realized - I still have to do more food shoping tomorrow. I have no cold cuts for lunches. The warehouse club didn't have anything that looked good and I am pretty picky about deli. Plus - I have to stock up on Kosher foods. A lot of Kosher foods are good for Olivia since the production lines are more strict that the average lines (like Keebler, etc) due to Jewish dietary restrictions. I end up buying a LOT of Kosher products. This way I know they are not contaminted with Dairy. If the products have dairy (milk, butter, etc) in it or was produced on a line that also produced food with dairy in it, there are specific markings on the packaging. This way, I know what I can or cannot buy. Kosher food is expensive but it is worth it, just for my peace of mind. This way I can feed Olivia a snack and know she will be safe. She has discovered Melba Toast with garlic. Yummy! She asks for them all the time - and I am out of them! I will have to buy a few boxes of those.
Oi - am I tired! I drove Miss Moira to school today, along with half the community it seemed by judging the numerous amounts of hulking SUV's in the parking lot. Can they make those frickin things ANY bigger? And the drivers ANY stupider? I have come to this conclusion: The bigger the SUV, the more oblivious the driver. Why? Cuz there's more room to do stuff! One driver of the monster SUV's actuallt drove up on the curb. Not an "Oops, I hit the curb" but a "Holy Sh*t, half of my Chevy/Ford/Dodge Monolith is parked on the damn sidewalk" She (and it *was* a she) could have easily hit someone.. people were still walking ON the sidewalk. ::Sigh:: Morons. Olivia and I made our bi-monthly trek to our local Warehouse club and I spent :::gulp::: $215.02! $60.68 was just meat. I had to stock up on a bunch of stuff - paper towels, pickles, ketchup, conditioner, all that crap. I always need batteries - got a 48 pack of AA for 10.99.I have to say there are perks when you have food allergies in the family. I can't buy most of the premade stuff as well as most cookes, crackers, and snack crap. Olivia doesn't even ask. We did find Jello cups and she *really* wanted those. So - we got them. She is so good when we food shop. She got a little antsy towards the end but after I bought "Shrek", she seemed to be one pretty happy camper. I also ended up buying 2 Blues Clues VHS tapes for $5.99 each. Not bad, especially since the WalMart and KMart both sell them for $9.99 each. Woohoo!
Damn! I am having the hardest time posting a picture! Screw it.. I will post it later.. I am going to bed. Night everyone!
Had a crappy kind of day - work up with an awful awful headache. I had forgotten to take my Claritin the past 2 days and it finally caught up with me.. big time. Paul had to take Moira to church this morning. I stayed home with Olivia and I just turned on the Veggie Tales tape and dozed in the recliner. She sat in my lap and sang to all the songs. ::grin:: Did a bunch of laundry and made dinner - spaghetti and meatballs. The girls pigged out. Quickie dessert, bath and both of them were in bed by 745pm. YAY! A friend who lives in Arkansas called me tonight. We haven't been able to sit down and catch up for quite a while. Stacey and her husband own carnival rides - like the rides you would see at the boardwalk. They play all different shows and drive all over the south to get to them. It's a tough job - they work constantly from March to October. During the winter months, they work on the rides and the food carts. She and Billy work SO hard. Unbelievably hard. Their daughter (my Godchild) is 6 and in the 1st grade. She stays with Stacey's mom or with Billy's parents when Stacey and Billy are on the road. So - we got a chance to sit down and chat. I wish she still lived up here ::sigh:: I miss her. I did get a bunch of things organized around the kitchen. See - it's a bitch with a small house. The hosue was a good fit when we bought it almost 5 yrs ago. Now, with Olivia and a million frickin' toys.. the house is crowded. PACKED is a better word. Plus, the house is laid out rather weird.. not enough space. We did get a deal on the house - it has a great backyard. Plenty of room. We are hoping to build on to the house. I like where I live and my neighbors are great, with the exception of the Bumpuses and their 4 or 5 dogs behind us.

3/23/2002

Tim came down this morning - the girls had SO much fun! They don't get to see Uncle Timmy (or Timmykins as Moira delighted in calling him) as much as they would like to see him. The girls were all over him - the poor bastard ::hehe:: I made homemade chicken noodle soup (yummy!) and we also had sandwiches. Tim took Moira out on her bike and he carried Olivia on his shoulders. They were in heaven! A very nice afternoon was had by all. After Tim left, Olivia took her nap, Paul took his nap and Moira watched the end of "Star Wars" while I got dinner organized. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, broccoli, homemade gravy.. yummy yummy!! The girls got to bed late tonight - I can't believe tomorrow is Palm Sunday! SHEESH! I am so not ready for Easter.
I used write on my-diary.org, before I discovered the joys of blogging. I decided to write here because of the ease of use and the format is SO much better. I copied my previous postings for my own records, in case my diary got deleted. I wrote about my Nana, the girls, the usual stuff. I only posted 8 or 9 times. If you have some time to kill, check it out here. If you search by diary owner, I am QueenKate ::giggle::

Looong day! Class went well. Learning some interesting tips/hints for ways to advertise a web page. Moira was up when I got home.. nice surprise. I got to tuck her into bed tonight. Gosh - I just love that. Both girls are so good about going to bed ::knocking wood:: I have to sing "You are my Sunshine" to Olivia whenever I tuck her in, whether it's nap time or bed time. Moira likes to cuddle for a few moments before lights out. Some days, they drive me insane.. but bed time is precious.. and so are my babies. Hopefully, we will get to the library in the morning. I want to start a weekly routine of visiting the library, even if it's only for half an hour. Tim, my brother, will be down tomorrow. He hasn't been able to spend time with the girls in a while. They are so excited that Uncle "Timmy" will be coming over. Hope you all have a great weekend! See you soon!
At least Moira has a playdate after school today. I get to pick her up at the bus stop and chauffer her butt to her buddy's house. Paul will pick her up at 530pm and attempt to feed them dinner ::snicker:: Good thing it's hot dogs and tater tots tonight. Hell - maybe Paul can make it movie night too. That's when we let the kids watch a movie AND eat dinner. I always swore I wouldn't do things like that. "When *I* am a parent, yadda yadda yadda..." Guess things have changed a bit. As for television, the kids can only watch certain things. No Nickelodeon, with the exception of Nick Jr, PBS, PBS Kids, some Animal Planet, TLC, Discovery and History Channels) Moira really wanted to watch the Mummy special on TLC (I think TLC) but the scientists were making a REAL mummy out of someone's dead body. I didn't want to explain that - at least, not yet. I know of so many people who have tv's in every room, their kid has her/his own TV/DVD/VHS combo in her/his room. Sorry - not in this house. Hell - Paul and I just got a 2nd TV in July and it had belonged to my Nana (who passed away last May). I guess Paul and I must be old-fashioned in our way of thinking. We sit with the kids and watch what they watch. Ok - well, sometimes we doze through it but one can only see The Veggie Tales "Silliest Songs Ever" so many times!
It is so stinkin' COLD today! Brrr! My American flag has been whipping around in this wind all day. And I have class tonight. Oh - I registered for my Java class, which starts April 3rd. I have Good Friday off - yippie!
Friday Five 1. What is your favorite time of year? Definitely spring followed by autumn, summer and winter. 2. What is it about your favorite season that, well, makes it your favorite season? I love the sight of everything coming up new and fresh. 3. What is your least favorite time of year? Why? Winter - too cold! Brrr!! 4. Do you do anything to celebrate or recognize the changing of seasons? Not really except enjoy it! Sometimes I take pictures of things that are particularly striking. 5. What's your favorite thing to do outside? I love to garden although I don't have the time. Hopefully, the girls will get interested in it too and help me!
Ooh - the Rocky Horror Quiz! (link via Ellis)
Which Rocky character are you? I love this movie although I have yet to see it in a theater - I guess I am too chicken. I don't want to get stuff thrown at me!
Oh - speaking of weird... check this out Weird NJ.
SNOW??? Lordy lord - this is weird!
Anyone watch Real Sex on HBO? Talk about some weird people! LOL!

Dog Owners Guilty on All Counts Good. Despicable people.

I was on SuzieQ's blog and I saw the link for these awesome paperclips. Very cool indeed. They also have safari animals and buttlerflies... I have to buy these for someone. I think my Mom would love these!
Picture of Olivia, Dad and Moira
We're back! Picture of Olivia and Moira Dad got here around 1045am and we left for the zoo shortly after that. The girls had a blast. It is gorgeous out, cool and sunny. We saw the lions, no tigers, and bears - Oh My! ::grin:: There's a bunch of geese, peacocks, chickens, parrots, ducks and pigeons plus a variety of other birds. The zoo also has a small reptile house with a huge boa constrictor. Every time I look at it, I can't help but think about what a great pair of boots it would make. Heck - there's enough for a matching bag and belt too. Ok ok - no nasty emails - I am kidding. We also visited the Monkey House, which is so darn sad. Most of these monkeys were abused by their former owners .One of these monkeys was "disiplined" by being hosed with scalding hot water. This monkey was taken from a ZOO. God - the poor thing. She cannot grow any fur in certain areas because of the damage. I want to smack the crap out of the ball-less bastards who abuse animals. There is no excuse. None. I hope everyone else is having a good day!

3/20/2002

Class went well tonight. Lord - I am exhausted. Moira has a day off tomorrow. It's a teacher's conference or something. My Dad is coming down tomorrow to visit the girls and we will be heading to the Popcorn Park Zoo. I hope it doesn't rain. :::YAWN::: I am going to bed - g'night all.
Any suggestions as to HOW I can get my links to align properly, without causing any breaks or spaces? I would appreciate ANY help! LOL!
More tinkering... hey- gotta keep up on my HTML, right? ::grin:: My new class starts today - only 3 lectures. The topic is Web Design and Marketing - the same instructor. The college completely dorked up my registration. I never got any confirmation in the mail (can register over the phone with a credit card). I called on Monday and it turns out I was never registered AND the class was full! SHIT! I talked to the head of the Continuing and Professional Education and she managed to squeeze me in, overriding the size of the class. Now I have to sign up for my JavaScript class ASAP. It's a $400 class ::gulp::
Ok - so I tweaked them over to the right.. I know I know.. I can't make up my mind ::grin::

3/19/2002

I added a few pictures - over on the left. Let me know if they turn out ok.. I have been tweaking them, trying to make pop-ups.
Ok - You people need to sponsor Erin. She is doing a 3 day walk for Breast Cancer and needs a lot of people to help her by donating money. Please... she has already put her rack up on display. WHAT ELSE DO YOU PEOPLE WANT? Stop Erin's insanity and donate - PLEASE!
Hrm - interesting discussion started in Scott's comments about the best albums of the 1980's. What do YOU think?
Pssst! Just wanted to let you all know.. I did watch the entire movie before Olivia and I left for BabyPower.
Well - Moira made it to the bus today. Her eye looks a lot better - more yellowish now. Looks kinda icky but I know it's healing. Olivia has her BabyPower class today. It was cancelled last week because the instructor was sick and her 3 kids were also home sick. Poor woman.. Holy cow - The 3 Amigos is on Comedy Central. I actually admit to seeing this in the theater. It was also the last time Chevy Chase and Martin Short were funny... and that's not saying too much. Example: Bartender: We don't have beer. Just tequila. Ned Niederlander (Martin Short): What's tequila? Bartender: Uh, it's like beer. What clever lines... not! So, will someone please answer me this? WHY am I still watching it?? LOL!
Man - it's morning already??? ::::Yawn:::
Visited Mom tonight - had avery nice time. I did a few things for her and we went downstairs in the basement to her "craft room". I have to describe this room - it's just astounding... It's about 12' wide and about 20' long... FULL of shelves.. and tons of stuff in the shelves. I must add that my Mom is a self proclaimed obsessive compulsive and a pack rat as well. She is very much into crafting and has essentially converted a part of her basement into the "Craft Room". She has shoebox size storage boxes filled with a plethora of supplies - Martha Stewart would be jealous. She has also labeled all of these storage boxes as well.. example: "Thread", "Shells", "Small Shells", "Tiny Shells".. you get my drift. She also labeled a storage box for her labelmaker "Labelmaker". Duh. Mom must have at LEAST 100 of these boxes filled with ribbons, needles, yarn, foam squares, wood bits, scissors, etc... I can go on and on.. I will have to take pictures of this room - it is so much fun to be down there, tinkering and playing. I love it and so does Mom. It's like therapy to her. :::sigh:::

3/18/2002

I have been getting a lot of visitors here lately. Speak up and post a comment! Let me know you've been here! I would love to visit your blog too... It's always nice to meet new people... ::smile::

If you are looking for tips on how to brew your own beer, check this out.
We spent most of yesterday at my Inlaws house. We had a great time. J made all KINDS of yummy food. She is Irish so you can imagine the all the food. Ham, red potatoes, cabbage, Irish soda bread, and Irish farls. Holy smokes - was it good? YES - it was. There was food that Olivia could eat too.. she just couldn't have the breads. All in all - a very good time was had by all. Moira, her friend and I did the Girl Scout on the Mall scavenger hunt and we all had a great time. After that, I took the girls to my inlaws place, where we met Paul and Olivia. Moira was chasing her friend around when she slipped and smacked her head on a table in the living room. She hit the corner of the table in the area just an inch from her eyeball. Thank GOD she missed hitting her eye ::sigh:: Her eye looks pretty gross - poor baby. The girls got to bed late last night and we all slept in today. We just bummed around the house, cleaning and doing laundry. The girls were playing with Paul's new toy. They had SO much fun - Olivia loves flying it!!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

3/15/2002

Which Rock Chick Are You? She is too cool!

3/14/2002

Oh - I have also updated my final - thanks again to everyone who looked and gave me some insight
Hi everyone - Blogger has been a bitch today - I had the hardest time trying to log in today.. Heard from my Mom today with her test results. They are as follows: 1. There may be involved lymph nodes in the groin area 2. Her left hip replacememnt may be starting to loosen 3. There are no signs of lymphoma anywhere else (YAY!) 4. There will be no treatment for 3 months (the Fludara [chemo]really kicked her ass)and then she will get another PET scan. 5. Bloodwork is to be done every 2 weeks to monitor her coumidin levels. 6. She will get an infusion of Zometa every 4 weeks (like a vitamin) Her doctor says as of now - the cancer is not visible anywhere but to remember that Cancer is a chronic condition. So, she will be monitored closely for the next 3 months. Thank you all SO much for all of your kind words and thoughts via comments, email, and phone. ::::smooches::::
Thank you to ToeTag, who sending me a surprise via the mail. Hrm - isn't that illegal? ::grin::

3/13/2002

In between all my other projects - I am also attempting to make a wedding present for my girlfriend... You know -the one that got married LAST month! ::sigh:: I never got a chance to work on it because of my Mom being sick and hospitalized. I am matting and framing her wedding invitation and decorating it with ribbons, pearls, and flowers. I also decorated a little box with butterflies (she danced with her Dad to the song of "Butterfly Kisses"), and I have copies of all the 35mm pictures that I took. I stil have to do something with the digital pictures. Hmm - maybe I will ask my awesome friend Erin aka gigglechick if she can maybe help me clean up the picture ::hint hint:: LOL
I changed my comments colors too. AND - I even cleaned my photo pages. I do need to change the pictures though... maybe tonight or tomorrow.
FINALLY! Blogger is back up! Looks like anything using BlogSpot was down. Grrrr.
I just got confirmation on my Amazon order! Woohoo! Twin flannel sheets for $5.00 and Queen flannel for $10! I am doing the happy dance now!

3/12/2002

I have been so busy today. Took the girls to the doctor today. Olivia got a script for Claritin, which should stop her nighttime coughing. Moira ran up a 101 fever last night so I kept her home today. Of course, she felt fine ::sigh::. Nothing wrong with her, according to the doc. Olivia and I visited Mom yesterday morning - she was thrilled. Of course, she was exhausted after about an hour of so of direct contact with Miss O. Hell - I get pooped after an hour or 2 with Olivia! ::grin:: Found some GREAT deals on flannel sheets at Amazon.com. Woohoo! I am off to bed in a bit. Hope you all have a great night!
Ok - here's the link to the webpages I made for my final. Please keep in mind my requirements were to keep the page professional looking and clean. It also had to fit on a floppy disk. Country Home and Garden Whaddya think?

Rudy Guliani is being interviewed by Great Van Susteren on her show "On the Record". I love him. He is just wonderful. I liked him *before* the tragedy of September 11.
God forgive me for saying this but Mike Bloomberg is the MOST uninspiring speaker I have ever heard. He is pathetic. I have no respect for him. The dedication of the memorial seemed so boring to him. At the end of the dedication - he said "Never forget" and just walked off the podium. Huh? What the hell was that? ::sigh::
Never forget

"We will not tire; We will not falter; We will not fail." What an awesome tribute to those firefighters. The filmmakers did a fantastic job. The sounds were awful.. all those thuds.. the bodies hitting.. gave me awful chills. I did cry through most of the documentary. It was just heartbreaking. Per CBS News tonight - 2077 bodies are still not recovered from Ground Zero.
Is anyone going to watch the CBS show about 9/11 tonight? I will be watching. I can already anticipate crying through most of the show. I am of mixed feeling about it being aired. It's not like the filmmakers set this up as soon as the towers fell. It was already a documentary in the making. My heart and prayers go out to all the people whose lives were lost on September 11. Never forget.
I will learning how to make tables on Wednesday in class. UGH UGH. I thought we were going to learn them on Friday but we learned about lists/unordered lists, changing margins, etc.. Oy - my head hurts!
I finally made it to my blog! Hooray! I never got a chance to visit my Mom yesterday. She got very sick on Friday night. When I talked to her Saturday morning, we decided it was best for her health to stay home. ::sigh:: Poor Mom - she really misses the girls. But I just can't risk her health. We got some errands done, including putting up Olivia's BIG GIRL bed! She looks SO damn cute in it! I took a couple pictures of her in it and she looks so sweet. She stayed in it during her nap and throughout the night. I am so proud of her!! I worked on my final last night for about 4 hours. I have ONE problem I am having a helluva time finding.. much less fixing. BUT - I will work on it some more tonight and hopefully I will be finished by Monday/Tuesday night.

Company Policy or "Why I no longer work for M@cW@rehouse" Start with a cage containing 5 monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stars under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all the monkeys with cold water. After a while another monkey will make an attempt with the same result - all the monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it. Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows climbing the stairs will provoke an assault. Next, remove another original of the 5 monkeys and replace it with a newcomer. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer participates with all the others. Likewise, replace another original monkey with a new one, then a 4th, then a fifth. Every time the newest monkey attempts the stairs they are attacked. Most of the attacking monkeys have no idea why they are not permitted to climb the stairs or why they are beating the newest monkey. After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana. Why not? Because as far as they know that's the way it's always been done. This is how company policy begins....
Talked to Mom earlier - Results will be in next week ::sigh:: Sorry about the self pitying post from last night... I was just venting. Moira has a playdate at one of her little buddies house tomorrow while Paul, Olivia and I will be going up to visit Mom for a few hours. She is doing much better and her voice is almost back to normal. She has lost 20lbs on the Chemo Diet. Surprisingly, she still has a lot her hair, although it is obviously thinner than it was before chemo. She keeps it cut very close to her head - almost a crew cut. It doesn't look to bad! I have class tonight. The instructor warned us that it would be a 3 cup of coffee night ::grin:: I will be be learning about tables and links. Hooboy... what fun! Thanks to Blogger, I have learned a bunch of stuff before my class even started. I am a little concerned with an upcoming class, which is an Intro to Java. It requires programming experience and I have none. NONE. Hopefully, Paul can show me some stuff. He knows some C++ and COBOL.
I have been having these really sad thoughts and bad dreams lately... not sure why. That's not true... I do know why but I don't want to deal with it. I have been trying so hard to be upbeat. It's just not working. I just have these awful thoughts in my head. I just wish I had some kind of magic wand to make everything better. Yeah yeah.. I know there's no such thing. I feel like shit My Mom gets her results from her PET scan tomorrow. Please God - I hope the chemo worked..
Bahahahahaha! Wil Wheaton is the Special Guest on Beat The Geeks.
Why am I watching "Beat the Geeks?". I really dislike the Movie Geek. I don't have a good reason why.. I just dislike him.

It was so nice today that the kids played out back for over an hour before dinner. I love that the days are getting longer. I hate when it gets really dark by 430 in the afternoon. I am sending out cyber hugs to Erin and Jill. Each of them has had one helluva day today. {{{{{Erin}}}}} and {{{{{Jill}}}}}. Hang in there ladies!
I am an official member of the Pepys Project. Check it out!
Oh my God - I am adding this to my links!
Gorgeous weather today! I guess that's why it was so frickin' mobbed at ShopRite. ACK! Olivia almost got run over by one of the derranged cart-wielding senior citizen. Good thing I picked Olivia up in time. Nice to see they push their shopping cart the same way a lot of them drive - dangerously.
Another quiz.. I think I am addicted! (link via Roni)

So which letter of the alphabet matches YOUR personality, huh?

It's a good thing I am awake. Olivia has woken up twice. The first awakening, about 40 minutes ago, was accompanied with a piercing scream! She had a "Bad Dweam". I cuddled her for a little while then tucked her back into her crib (yes, my 2 yr old is still in a crib. We bought a toddler bed to put together on Saturday). She just woke up a few minutes ago and cried out. Another "Bad Dweam".. or so she said. I don't mind going in her room late at night.. she is so warm and snuggly. When she puts her chubby little baby arms up and around my neck, I just melt. She had a nightmare about 2 months ago and Paul was the one who raced to her room at top speed. When he asked her what happened, she replied, still hiccupping and crying that "..the squirrel said stop it." Huh? What a weird thing to say!
There's nothing like eating dinner at 1030pm. Ugh. I can't possibly go to sleep now..

I am on my 2nd break in school. I am so tired tonight. I keep yawning in class. We had a quiz today and I got a 95! Woohoo! I am hungry too - never got a chance to eat dinner before I left the house tonight. I am a happy, hungry and tired camper.
I'm here.. I'm here! Bet you thought I forgot all about you? ::grin:: Actually... Paul was home sick today so I managed to sneak in a nap since I am not feeling great myself. I was up WAY too late last night but I did work on my final. It's starting to come together nicely. I was having a very difficult time coming up with actual content to "make up" for my "business". Plus, I didn't want to make my business an online shop. Just a main page with 2 more links on it. Paul and the kids are on their own for dinner tonight aka FFY dinner. Fend For Yourselves. Heck - I have enough leftovers for them. I will be at class tonight. Catch you later!

By the way, Jason's new blog is underway. Stop by and check him out. ::waving to Jason:: Glad you are back among us!
I just love Yul Brynner... that voice, those eyes, that awesome chest, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera! ::making mental note to add "The King and I" to my wishlist::

Forgot to add - Mom's PET scan went well. We will get the results in about 2-3 weeks. Her blood counts are good too although her platelets are low. So, no ax juggling for her. ::grin::
Ok - update for the past 24 hours... I visited Mom last night. She is NOT going on vacation ::phew:: The pulmonologist didn't think it was a good idea (DUH) for her to go away. Her lungs need about 1-2 months to recover.. Needless to say, I am SO relieved.. and I think she is as well. Dan might fly down to Tennessee on his own to visit his daughter, son in law, and granddaughter. This way, the 2 of them would get a well needed vacation.. from each other! Mom is on an amazing amount of medication. She is quite organized and has a journal that helps her keep her schedule on track. Thank God. On the school front, I am doing ok.. I think. I have my final due in 4 classes. I have to make a business webpage (using NotePad) with a minimum of 2 pages/max 5. BUT - it has to fit on a FLOPPY! This guy is looking for a basic business page.. no bells and whistles. So I came up with a "Country Home" type of store as my main page. I also have 2 other linked pages, a recipe of the week page and a craft technique of the week. The "Country Home" home page will not be a retail page but more of a promotion page (describing *my* brick and mortar store) that offers tips and information about the store. God - I hope it turns out ok.
**grumble** Good morning.

OK - I did this too.. but only after Erin and Mike did theirs too. Link from PopCultureSlut Kate Your name of Kate has created a practical, responsible, stable nature, and you desire to direct the efforts of others rather than to take order or ask permission. You have a determined, self-reliant, capable nature and resent any interference, although in your desire to help you are inclined to become involved in the lives and decisions of other people. You like to make your own decisions and to be the master of your domain. You feel a limitation in your own expression when it is necessary to reach another through tact and understanding. Although you are honest and fair, a directness in speech is a source of much consternation to you, and you often regret what you say. You also have a tendency to worry. It causes you to be too serious, and interferes with happiness and relaxation that comes with naturalness of expression. Health weaknesses centre in the head appearing as headaches, head colds, and eye, teeth, ear, or sinus problems.

Hello! Thanks for all the comments and emails about my Mom. You are all so sweet and I truly appreciate your kindness. I was having a bit of a pity party last night. I pretty much stayed around the house today. The girls and I did a lot of crafts and had a good time. Paul was so beat he ended up taking a nap.. the lucky bastard! I will post more tomorrow.. I am exhausted.. Mom has her PET scan tomorrow. God - I hope that the chemo has SOME effect on the lymphoma.

Good morn...err.. evening! Such a looooong day today! I was at my Mom's place by 930 this morning. I had to take her to the dentist for an emergency visit.. a tooth problem. Thank goodness they were able to get her in ASAP. I have to say, it has been alarming to watch her while she's walking. She is practically panting for air. She has several appointments on Monday. A PET scan, to see how the cancer reacted to the chemo, bloodwork and a visit to the pulmonologist. At this point, I don't want her to even GO to Florida. Mom doesn't even want to go to Florida. But, she is going anyway. I almost wish the doctors would tell her to stay home. Honestly, I think she would want that. I had to pack her bags for the trip. She is so tired. She also has laryngitis. It seems that Mom can't get a frickin' break. Dad and Millie (my Step-Mom) came down for a visit this afternoon. I had gotten home about 5 minutes before they showed up. The girls always enjoy it when they come down. We had a nice visit and they left about 90 minutes later. For the rest of the day, we just bumped around until dinner. After dinner, the girls played while Paul and I cleaned up. Finally got them into bed by 845. I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do on my final. I have to write a business website with a minimum of 2 pages, max 5. I can make up a business and I was going nuts, wondering what I was going to do. I finally came up with a solution and now I have to work like a dog planning and designing it. It *must* fit on a floppy disk. So, no bells and whistles for me (Thank God!) I am so stressed. My neck is killing me. I am cranky. I was doing my crafts for about 2 hours, just to try to relax. AND, I will be teaching Sunday School again tomorrow. Needless to say, I will be heading to bed shortly. I hope tomorrow is a better day...

My neighbor is having 7 trees removed from his property this morning. I got back from driving Moira to school and the guys were already here. There is 1 GIANT pine tree (damn scrubby looking pines!) that was pretty hard to get to from his property. So, the guys drove the big lift truck up our driveway and cut from there. Now - the icky tree is gone! Hooray! My neighbor is pretty cool. His wife is a sweetie and he has 2 kids, 1 in college (used to babysit Moira) and the other is a junior in HS (and he's huge - plays football) We are lucky to have such great neighbors... EXCEPT for the ones behind us. UGH! Anyone every see "A Christmas Story" with Ralphie and his family? Remember the Bumpus' next door to them? With 500 dogs? THAT describes our neighbors behind us. I will tell that story another time. Won't be blogging too much today.. I have a ton of things to do plus I have a Daisy meeting from 3-415. I get to rush home from that, eat dinner in 15 minutes, then head out to class tonight. Lord help me!
