Ok Guys - Good thoughts for my Dad. He is having a triple bypass tomorrow morning.
::deep breath:: The kids are in bed... and I am relaxing on the computer. I remember about 6 years ago, laughing at Paul for goofing around on the computer, calling him a puter geek, etc. Well, guess who is the bigger nerd now? ME! After I picked up Moira at the busstop, I got the fantastic idea to go food shopping. Duh. $168.44 later and I have a ton of food. You know, the basics, mustard, Wonder Bread (it IS fortified, more so than most white bread), bagels, hotdogs, and a TON of fresh produce. I love the spring - everything looks so much fresher. I have been getting Paul and Moira to eat salad almost every night. I have been sneaking in fresh spinach among the Iceberg and Romaine lettuce. Teehee!
A husband is advised by a psychiatrist to assert himself. "You don't have to let your wife henpeck you. Go home and show her you're the boss." The husband takes the doctor's advice. He rushes home, slams the door, shakes his fist in his wife's face, and growls, "From now on, you're taking orders from me. I want my supper right now, and when you get it on the table, go upstairs, and lay out my best clothes. Tonight, I'm going out with the boys, and you are going to stay at home where you belong. And another thing, guess who's going to comb my hair, give me a shave, and tie my necktie?" His wife calmly replies, "The undertaker." Bahahaha!
Whew! Just got back home about 20 minutes ago. Olivia and I visited my Dad, went shopping, stopped at a farm market to visit the animals and had lunch at McD's. While shopping, I bumped into a classmate from high school. She looked great. She had 2 adorable children with her. The oldest one was in school. Very very cute kids. We chatted briefly as we wandered around the store. I paid for my stuff and then said goodbye to Allison. We bumped into her again at the farm and I am hoping to hear from her via email. I am doing my hair now. I should be "cooked" in about 15 minutes. Hopefully, the color takes!

Goodbye Steve. I miss you already.

This
link will help in dealing with the transition from Steve to Joe. AND - I will even admit to my eyes filling up when Steve said goodbye to the audience ::sniffle::

Is it me or is the Steve replacement a little too perky looking? This link will take you to Al Roker's blog. Scroll down and there is a picture of "Joe".
And - by the way.. if anyone new is reading this.. please comment! Let me know if YOU have a blog. I would like to "meet" you too! I have hits from Japan, Poland, Trinidad and several other foreign countries. How cool! KateSpot is international!! ::grin::
I was looking over my stats and I had a hit from the US Government! Should I worry? Naaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

4/28/2002

Hi! Remember me? ::grin:: I don't think I have updated ya'll since Friday.. it seems like forever. My Macromedia Flash class started on Friday. There was a problem in the computer lab and somehow the Flash software wasn't installed. Duh. So, my first class consisted on the instructor using her laptop and a projector, running the program and explaining what things were. Great. What a way to start the class. The software thing wasn't her fault but still... they couldn't get a tech person out there to fix the problem? It *is* a college ::shaking head:: Saturday morning, the girls and I drove up to my Mom's place. Had a nice time. She had a lot of energy, which was nice to see! I split and dug up some of her Shasta Daisies so I could plant them at my house. I love those things! They grow SO tall and look very pretty. I love daisies - my wedding bouquet and most of the flowers at my wedding were daisies. As we were leaving, we bumped into my brother, who was down for the weekend. He was spending time with my Dad and Step-Mom. Speaking of Dad, his surgery is Wednesday and all good thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. Paul was able to get a lot of yard work done with us being out of the way. We had a major argument about where I was going to plant the daisies. I ended up digging up a bed with a bunch of hostas and rearranging them so I could fit those damn daisies in the ground. Grrrrrrrr! I had to teach Sunday School today - I had 12 kids in class today. Age range 3-9. Luckily, the 11am Sunday School service is pretty relaxed. So, we watched a Veggie Tales episode "Where's God When I am S-scared?" It was pretty cute. Then, I had the kids color some pictures about what good things they can think about when they are scared. We just stayed around the house today. I napped in the reclined (very nice indeed). Dinner was pretty simple - Breakfast for dinner night! The kids LOVE that and it takes the pressure off me! Some thunder and lightening going on here.. pretty cool to watch. I tried to take some pictures of the lightening but the shutter speed of my digital is too damn slow. There were some cool looking bolts.. At one point, I am standing in my front yard, in socks, trying to catch the sky lighting up. Then I looked up and I realized I was standing under a TREE! DUH! I zipped back into the house. Off to catch up on emails.. be good and have a great night! BYE! ::smooches::
Sorry kids - have been awfully busy - I fell asleep last night by 11pm! That rarely, if ever, happens. I will update more tonight or Monday morning. Enjoy the rest of your weekend... it's raining here.. Thank goodness. We need it.

4/27/2002

::sigh:: I have to update my Blog Links.. again.. Mary - thank you SO much for you offering to help me {{{Mary}}}
Got my grade from the JavaScript class - 99 BABY! Woooooooohoooooooooo!
It's fixed! Hooray! I have NO freakin clue what I had done. Thank God I had a copy of my template from about a week ago.

I think my blog is possessed
My format! What the hell is going on???
Arrrggghh! What am I doing wrong?? Where the hell are my COMMENTS???
My arms are sore - I was out weed-whacking this morning. Where the heck did all this energy come from??
Damn - comments are down AGAIN? Has anyone else been having a lot of problems with Blogger lately? Or - is it just me? ** 820am Update** - it very well can be me ::grin::

4/25/2002

Click on the images below - they will open in a new window.. This is an excellent reason as to why one needs to keep markers away from a 2 year old.. Olivia meets..err...EATS her marker All Clean
Had a pretty decent night with the munchkins... we let the girls stay up to watch the *NSYNC concert that was on the WB network. The girls went wild - it was so freakin funny! Olivia was so excited when they sang "Bye Bye Bye" that she started to dance and sing along. I wish I had videotaped the girls. I did tape the concert though! This way *I* get a chance to watch *NSYNC when *I* want to see them ::hubba hubba:: I have been busy trying to get my Girl Scout paperwork in order for end of the year paperwork! UGH! Debbie does all the running around and I count the money and do paperwork. Trust me - I got the easy part! Plus - she has an older daughter who also does GS so Debbie is a little more up to speed with the more current info, which she then passes on to me.. My Macromedia Flash class starts tomorrow night. It turns out that my JavaScript instructor will be IN the class too.. as a student. YIKES! I hope I do well with Flash. ::crossing fingers::
Ohhh - I am SO watching this tonight! I might even let Moira stay up and watch it too!
Olivia and I have been dancing to Smashmouth's version of "I'm a Believer" from the Shrek soundtrack I love being at home...
An update from late night: I did very well on my exam and on my webpage. Thank goodness!
Round 2 of "Let's Chase the Bus for 5 streets" Kate - 2 Bus - 0 hehehehe
Good Mommy or what? I ironed Moira's dress today. I don't iron Paul's shirts... Hell.. I don't iron MY shirts!

4/24/2002

Our coffee machine is broken. The On/Off switch broke on Saturday. Fortunately, it broke in the "On" position so all we had to do was unplug it before we went to bed and plug it in to make fresh coffee. Paul and I are always breaking coffee machines. I think we just kill them. We drink a LOT of coffee in this house. I have bought all different brands at all different prices and I have come to one conclusion: Buy a cheap-ass machine. So - every time the thing breaks.. off to Kmart I go to pick out yet another machine. I figure we get about 10-12 months out of each machine. Not too bad at all. I refuse to pay more than $19.99 for a machine. I got a GREAT deal at Kmart - a White-Westinghouse machine, with a digital clock, timer/auto set, pause and serve (very important in this house - who has time to wait for a whole pot to brew?) AND a bonus grinder... All for the one time price of $12.00. Woohoo! New coffeepot!
I saw a link to this picture from the BarCodeKing. I bet this photographer makes some BIG bucks off of that image...
Oh - I had a couple inquiries as to HOW I celebrated the completion of my final last night... I took a shower and watched "Six Feet Under" I am so glad Jeremy Sisto (Billy) is back - he is just adorable He looks MUCH better cleaned up instead of being all shaggy and scruffy.. Hey - can I celebrate or what!
Miss Olivia and her Tonkas BORDER="1" WIDTH="80"
Ok - this is what happens when you don't post for a while... UGH!
Your Daily Horoscope: Distance indeed makes the heart grow fonder. Even if your tribe is scattered, you can still keep in touch. This is a good time to send an email or make a phone call, Gemini. Despite promises to communicate from both sides, it seems as though the responsibility of keeping the lines of communication open has fallen on you. Take this opportunity to discuss the things that you'd rather be doing, and why you're not rich and famous yet. Teachers have a hard time holding their students' attention. (Ha - they ain't kidding about that)

4/23/2002

Erin set up the coolest site - you MUST check this out! And please - donate whatever you can.
I'm DONE!! I'm DONE!! My final is completed! God - I need a drink... or some chocolate... or maybe even sex! I feel the need to celebrate! Woohoo!
Yikes! I just read about Liz! I am glad to see she and Jacob are fine.
Ok - I think I have SOME time now ::teehee:: This past weekend was a blur.. Saturday I visited my Dad and Paul got called into work due to the earthquake that hit the NorthEast. On Sunday, I taught Sunday School, toured a Girl Scout camp where we might be sending Moira this summer. After that, Paul and Olivia headed home and Moira and I had a Girl Scout troop activity (gymnastics) from 430-530. Needless to say, the weekend passed quickly. My Dad's procedure was scheduled for Monday.. and it was delayed until 4pm. He didn't get in until 5pm. His one blockage (the 98% artery) was so clogged that the doctors were unable to perform angioplasty. So - now Dad will be getting a triple bypass on May 2nd. The doctor says he is in excellent health and is a great candidate for the surgery. This way, the doctor can get all three blockages (98%, 88% and 80%). Moira's soccer was cancelled due to the rain. Of course, it stopped raining by 3pm but the fields are SO soggy. I am sure they will clear up nicely for the Wednesday game/practice. I have been working on my final for the past 3 nights. Oy - what a mess. I hope I pass. Actually - I am sure I will pass.. I just want to pass well! I have been gettign stuck on quite a few things but I have been muddling through most of the problems using my books and the Internet (thanks again for the links Jason!)

4/22/2002

I have lots to write about.. as soon as I get some time! I promise!

which "monty python and the holy grail" character are you?

I want to clarify my statement below before I get slammed! ::grin:: I am anti-abortion. I believe that it *is* murder... no matter how you do say it. It's a baby. Before I had children, I was "Pro-Choice". Heck, I was ProChoice when I was pregnant. BUT - once I held my girls and looked into their eyes, the thought of abortion made me gag. Now - I do not go about burning buildings, shooting doctors or nurses, bombing clinics, etc.. People that are such extremists do scare me. Killing a person who performs abortion does not make sense to me either. I can see where there can be medical emergencies where a choice HAS to me made.. and that does make me sad. What an awful decision to have to make. And - God forbid in the cases of rape. There are women who have been raped and they do carry the baby and deliver. Granted - I can't imagine there would be many women that could (or would) do that. It's so hard not to judge I think what infuriates me are the people who just don't care..
Supreme Court to Review Use of RICO Laws Against Abortion Protesters Good!
My stepMom called about an hour ago.. my Dad's procedure was pushed back until 4pm.. I appreciate all the kind comments and emails I have received. Thank you SO much! Love you guys!
I did forget to mention that Paul DID find the problem we were having last night regarding my final and he stayed up all night to fix it! Isn't he wonderful?! ::smooches to Paul::
It's Monday... frickin' yippie.. had the evening of hell last night... working on my JS project. I got SO frustrated that Paul and I had a HUGE fight about it. He was helping me and I just got to the point where I lost my mind... poor guy. Dad is having angioplasty done today - I love you Dad!

4/19/2002

OK - I want to scream! I have been working on my JavaScript homework and final for the past 3 hours. I am just NOT getting it. I want to cry - I am SO freakin frustrated! Missing class last week really f'ed me up. The instructor.. well.. I think she can probably program her ass off but she's not too good at explaining it. I feel completely lost at this point.
Moira has been complaining of a sore throat for the past 15 hours.. guess who is home today?
Last night, I watched John Leguizamo's HBO special Holy crap - I love this guy. It was SO raunchy and completely hysterical. :::sigh::: I think I am in love..

4/18/2002

Is anyone surprised about Robert Blake?
I have to say this - dinner was DELISH tonight! I done good - the steaks were perfect! I made the kids Salisbury Steaks (they love those) with tater tots. I made a huge salad and threw in some Chinese noodles. The kids scarfed everything up tonight. I made Roasted Red Potatoes with rosemary.. they turned out pretty good. Paul didn't like them. The next time I make them, I will use garlic instead. "Singin' in the Rain" is on now. I can watch that at any time. Prime Time pretty much sucks, in my opinion. Oh - I finally saw "Me, Myself, and Irene" last night on HBO. I laughed SO hard... oh my gosh. I have to buy it on DVD. If there's any uncut stuff, I want to watch that!
Laundry Update - 4 loads down (folded or hung AND put away)... 3 to go.. Some days I even amaze myself.
Just talked to my Dad about half an hour ago. He is home.. and very tired. He has 3 blockages... the main one is 98%. The other 2 blockages are ONLY 90% and 88%!! Poor Dad. I am hoping to visit him this weekend...
Mom just left a little while ago. She came down for lunch and to drop off a few things. She seemed pretty perky today.. I hope it lasts. She's going to IKEA on Saturday without me ::SOB:: So - I gave her a list of stuff to pick up for me! Doea anyone want to come over and fold laundry for me? It's only 6 loads.. well.. actually 7, if you count the one in the washer. I'll cook dinner! ::looking hopeful:: Heck - I am grilling steaks tonight!
Heard from my StepMom - Dad's procedure is finished. He has 3 blockages.. one of which is 98% blocked. He has to go back to the hospital next week for an angioplasty and stent on the 98% blockage. If that doesn't "take", he needs to have a bypass ::sigh:: Overall, the doctor was pleased that Dad was in such good health.. if he wasn't, well, things would have been a helluva lot worse. ::knocking wood:: He will also have to have the other 2 blockages taken care of soon.
:::groan::: Daylight .... ack...
I could also use a few prayers to go out to my Dad - he is getting having a cardiac catherization done today(Thursday). I need all the good news I can get,
Today would have been my Nana's 79th birthday today... God.. I miss her so much..

4/17/2002

I have come to the conclusion that my JS instructor is *really* weird...
Found this link on SnazzyKat's ite.. it's good for a laugh. Don't look if you get offended easily!
Olivia and I stopped at the local health food store. I found SO much stuff for her to eat! Woohoo! I found Tofu Ravioli - and it is very very tasty. I know it is good because she wouldn't eat any of it ::grin:: Seriously - it was pretty darn good. I bet most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. She did like the Potato Onion rings and has been munching on those. I guess I will be a regular visitor to this place! Oh - did I mention that it is H O T.. like 91 degrees??!?!?!?!

4/16/2002

Damn - no Big Game winner here ::grumble:: Winning numbers are: Tuesday , April 16, 2002 — 07 10 25 26 27 + 23
Kind of a slow day for me around here... I cleaned the bathroom (such fun), did the dishes, even fed Olivia! I am going to pick Moira up at the bus stop and go vote in the school board election and vote against the new budget. These people spend money like frickin water. Morons. I can't WAIT until both girls are in school. Either Paul or myself will be on the board. It's so clique-ish now... disgusting. I know I would like to be on the PTA or SOME type of school organization. God - I never thought I would EVER say that! ::grin:: I am going to BBQ burgers tonight. Too hot for much else. I think I might make a pie or some fruit salad... not sure which. Maybe I will just buy some watermelon instead.. the kids would freak out. They both LOVE watermelon..
Today was Olivia's last day of Baby Power ::sigh:: I am pretty sure we will sign her up for another session in the Fall. It's getting too darn nice outside anyway, although it's HOT today.. and muggy too.. ick.
I did it! We made the bus this morning! YAY! Gee - how sad is my life when I am excited about making the bus on time?? HA! I also broke down and bought $5 worth of Big Game tickets. What the hell... why not..

4/15/2002

Ok - I have to stop messing with my blog. Must - walk - away.... ::Prying fingers from keyboard::
Mike - thank you thank you thank you!! You were right - it was the drop down menu ::smacking forehead:: I can't believe I didn't think of that! Shelley - thank you for your suggestiion too!
I have been playing with my template ALL day and I *still* can't get the left side smaller. Can ANYONE help? Please?? ::grin::
Was up late last night working on my final.. It's mostly adding JavaScript to the webpage that I initially created in my Intro to HTML class. I completely empathize now with programmers - what a job.. all those brackets... and semicolons.... and parenthesis... and quotes... Arrghh! I was going blind looking at my page last night! ::smile:: But - I htink I got the hang of it... sorta.. Well - off to drive Moira to school... AGAIN!

You are the Presidental Barbie! While the rest of the world thinks the middle east is just where America goes to test out bombs, you actually realize it is an important section of the world. What's more, I bet you enjoy taking World Geography!! Politics are important to you. If you are a GOOD Presidential Barbie, you realize that the Green Party sucks. (link via Rachel)
Hello faithful and wonderful readers! Had another busy day here at the homestead. I taught Sunday School today. While Moira and I were at church, Paul and Olivia went to Home Depot and got stuff for the yard and my garden. I will stop back there tomorrow with Olivia to buy some plants - YAY! My azaleas will be blooming soon. I will post pictures of them as soon as they bloom - they are gorgeous! It's supposed to rain later tonight and tomorrow so Paul is putting down fertilizer and bug crap for the front yard. We are attempting to really take good care of our grass this year. It's been a little neglected.... I told Moira I wanted a new mailbox for Mothers Day. One of those all in one molded plastic types (like this one in black.) - the wood one I have looks like shit.

ARRGGHHH! What a day! Moira had a gymnastics birthday party today at 330pm. Of course I hadn't purchased a gift for the birthday girl (who is just a sweetie) so Moira and I headed back to Target and bought Perfection, a Scooby Doo deck of playing cards and a little fuzzy purse with nail polishes and lip glosses in it. The party was very nice and the gymnastics center was HUGE and smelled like feet. There were at least 7 other parties going on at the same time. Paul had gone to my Mom's with Olivia. She had purchased a DVD/VCR and needed Paul to connect it for her. So, he brought Shrek along to play. Mom cracked up - she loved Donkey. Heck - Olivia loves Donkey too! By the time Moira and I got home, it was 6pm. Got the kids fed and Paul took them out back to run around for a while. We had to drag them in the house by 745 - it was pretty dark outside. The kids got baths, meds, teeth brushed, books read and finally in bed by 910pm. UGH! Paul and I are exhausted!

4/11/2002

YAY! Erin got herself a coooool new car! You go girl!
I saw on Rachel's blog that she was on a mission to find a particular lip color. I have found 1 that I really liked by Avon and it was discontinued.. I can't find it anywhere! Any good places online? I did the eBay and Yahoo search and came up with nada.
Ahh - finished feeding the beasties.. kind of reminds me of feeding time at the zoo. Don't get me wrong, the kids have great manners. But, no matter how hard they try, rice is hard for them to eat. My floor?? Don't even ask.... ugh!
Oh - also forgot to add.. I purchased my book for the next class. The bookstore price was 39.99! So - I found it online at Discount-PC Books and the cost (including delivery) is $17.94! Woooohooo!
This whole story about Edward Lutes is a mess... I don't know whether to feel sorry for the bastard or not. There are several articles about this incident: Cop's bitter feud led to 5 murders, suicide
'It was like Vietnam,' wounded chief says from his hospital bed
Victims, killer once friends
Fiancee's death, other ordeals took their toll
It was a peaceful neighborhood . . . until 2 bursts of gunfire
Don't you just LOVE online banking? I do - I can cross reference all the ATMs and track my spending.... oy..
UGH! Woke up late (CRAP). I will be driving Moira to school again. I also need to find VERY large safety pins for a craft for Daisies. WalMart doesn't have any. Any ideas?

4/10/2002

Did ok in class tonight. I really have to sit down and work on my "webpage" and add some scripts to it. I did a form tonight which I can modify and tweak to my specifications. Should be interesting to do... I am going to bed.. I am pooped. I promise I will write more tomorrow... ::smooches::
Blogging from class (again). We are working on forms and tables and after our break, we will be putting in "if" statements, validations and doing required fields. Yikes. Oh - got another 100 on my 2nd quiz. I think I am starting to get the hang of this! ::knocking wood::
BARNEGAT TOWNSHIP, N.J. (April 10) - A police officer wanted in a shooting rampage that left five people dead was found shot to death Wednesday, authorities said. Edward Lutes, a Seaside Heights police officer for 15 years, was found dead in his car, Dover Township Deputy Chief Vincent Pedalino said. The death appeared to be a suicide, Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Gregory Sakowicz said.
Update to the shooting - 5 dead and 2 wounded.
I just got back from driving Moira to school and there were helicopters circling her school - 2 of them.. I am SO freaked out...
Oh my God - there was a shooting in Dover Township(a town about 20 miles north - Toms River). A Seaside Heights police officer shot and killed 5 people. He drove down to Barnegat (the town right next to mine) and shot and wounded his chief, who is, thankfully, in good condition. The chief lives on the same street as my girlfriend and her family. At Barnegat police headquarters late last night, police officers were seen arriving and leaving dressed in SWAT gear and carrying shotguns. The cop was the head of the SWAT unit - he is considered heavily armed and dangerous. So far, I have heard helicopters fly over my house no less than 5 times. I have also seen the police driving up and down my street. I am terrified. I will be driving Moira to school today. We will not be waiting at the bus stop.
My sister in law will be having a boy. Yippie!

4/09/2002

Jeez - I haven't had a lot of time to blog lately : - ( Sorry guys! GORGEOUS day here. WOW - I could get used to this. But - talk to me in 2 months and I will be bitching and moaning about the heat and humidity - HA! Paul is at a dinner that is honoring his Mom as Person of the Year. I couldn't get a sitter so the girls and I enjoyed a McDonalds dinner (ew) and had a relatively nice night. Paul is, I am sure, eating steak and potatoes - the lucky bastard! My Dad called me earlier - he is having a stress test done tomorrow and he will be calling me after that. Hopefully, things will be fine. We took away Olivia's pacifier ::sigh:: My poor baby. She has been asking for it for 2 days now. We planned out a "Bye Bye Patsy Party". She and I packed up the pacifiers in a little bag and set them aside for the "new baby" my sis in law is having in August. (NOTE - I am NOT giving away used pacifiers to my sis in law. That was just a ploy to fool my 2 year old) So - after we packed them up, I hugged her and told her she was SUCH a big girl and we would go to WalMart to buy a present for her to celebrate. That's where the PlayDoh (see yesterdays posts) came about. She loves PlayDoh - it must be tasty. Oh - she had another HUGE blue poop today too. God - talk about nasty! GAG! Anyway - the poor kid has been asking for her patsy (pacifier) every time she goes in to sleep (nap or bed time). I feel so frickin mean for taking it away but she has been chewing and pulling on it. Not good. It's time to break the habit. I wish we never started it but when she was so sick as a baby (due to her allergies and refluxing), it was the only damn thing that soothed her. Sheesh - now I am gonna cry. I am such a mean Mommy...

Expecting! Ok - is it gross to even THINK about Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick having sex or is it just me? She is just so ... so.. BONY! How the hell did she even conceive?
Hmmm - new names for PlayDoh.. Poop-Doh Play-Poop Play(makesyourshitturnblue)Doh Think I should try to pitch these names?
Note to all: When blue Play-Doh is ingested, it tends to come back OUT the same color. Ick.
AND - I just spent $77.00 on Partylite candles. Why are they SO addicting??
I just spent 87 minutes (62 of them on HOLD) on the phone with NJ Unemployment. I do qualify for the extended benefits.
Good morning! I feel like I have neglected my blog.. but I have good reasons why! LOL! Mom came down yesterday morning with her car full of stuff, including Nana's jewelry box. My grandparents wedding anniversary is tomorrow. God - April sucks. Moira goes back to school today - thank you sweet Jesus! She is being a booger this morning... dragging her feet and moaning "My stomach hurts" and "I don't want to go to school". Too bad! BUH bye. It looks like I will be driving her to school this morning since I got up about 15 minutes late. Crap. Well - actually - that's not such a bad thing. I have a ton of errands to do so Olivia will be eating her breakfast a la carte this morning. Moira starts soccer this week and it runs until mid-June. I have to buy her cleats since she out grew hers from the fall. Well- I have to wake up the baby beastie and get her ready. I will catch up later. TA!

From David - How to measure success: At age 4  success is . . . not peeing in your pants. At age 12 success is . . . having friends. At age 16 success is . . . having a drivers license. At age 20 success is . . . having sex. At age 35 success is . . . having money. At age 50 success is . . . having money. At age 60 success is . . . having sex. At age 70 success is . . . having a drivers license. At age 75 success is . . . having friends. At age 80 success is . . . not peeing in your pants.
Oh my gosh - I almost forgot! I got my unemployment check! LOLOL! (thank God - we really needed it!)
Well - Mom never made it down today. She wasn't feeling too well..poor Mommy. : - ( She should be down tomorrow. I had a very busy day today. I cleaned out 7 storage boxes full of kids clothes from the attic. I got 2 garbage bags full of clothes to give away. I have them all packed up and ready to go to a friend who has an adorable 1 year old little girl. The other boxes I consolidated, relabeled and retaped shut. Paul put them back up in the attic. He had also pulled down a bunch of boxes of my old clothes ::sigh:: too small :::BIG sigh::: Mostly old skirts, sweaters and sweatshirts. So, I stuffed them into 3 large garbage bags and will donate them to the local old/new shop. I also rearranged the furniture around in my bedroom and vacuumed. UGH! Major dust bunnies! More like dust elephants. My bedroom seems a WHOLE lot bigger with the furniture being rearranged. My Mom will be bringing Nana's jewelry box down for me to use ::sigh:: Her birthday is coming up.. April 19th. While I was doing all of that, Paul was at our neighbors, helping them move their storage shed to the opposite side in their yard. They are getting a pool and needed to rearrange their backyard, including moving the shed and swingset. Lord - I am tired! I have church in the morning and I will be teaching Sunday School the following 3 Sundays. Ack. I need a vacation!
Don't you hate writing a long post to your blog only to have it disappear? Poof! Gone! Dagnabit ::muttering cusses:: Ok - let's start again. I had problems with Blogger last night and couldn't post. I hate that - grr! So, I decided that I would read my JavaScript book last night, in bed. Hahaha! I lasted about 20-25 minutes. I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I remember was jolting myself awake around 3am. Ooops! I dropped my books, pen and glasses over the side of the bed and went right back to sleep. LOL! Lights still on and everything. My father in law was down here around 9am this morning to pick up some lawn equipment. I zipped out to ShopRite to pick up some bagels (the only kids KIND that Olivia can eat) and "cream cheese" by Tofutti. It's actually not too bad. They also have an online store - guess who will be doing some shopping?? Mom is coming down today with a bunch of things for my garden, including shasta daisies! YAY!

Friday night and I am learning about parse intergers. Ack!
Prompts, functions, if else.. OH MY!
Passed the quiz - wheee!
Busy day today - I am blogging from class. We have a quiz today (ACK!) but it's open book and open "notes". Thank God!
It's the Friday Five! 1. What are the first things that you do in the morning to start your day? MUST have coffee. I cannot function without my first cup. Then, I make breakfast for the munchkins. While they eat, I am reading my email. The computer is right next to the table. So, we all chat and eat breakfast 2. What are the last things that you do at night before going to bed? Shut down the computer.. check the locks and fire up the dishwasher. 3. What daily routine have you recently added to your day? Blogging and homework. 4. What routine do you wish you get rid of? Laundry - ugh! 5. What's the one thing that makes you feel like something is missing if you don't do it some point within your day? Probably taking some time to sit and read.. even if it's for a few minutes.

We made it back in one piece today. Got home around 3-ish. Picked out the cutest little things for Olivia.. she really cleaned up. A lot of Moira's old clothes just don't fit her. It's pretty frustrating! I have a niece who is 16 months old who is practically wearing the same size as Olivia, who is a year older. Moira got some cute capri pants. She has a TON of tee shirts. We also picked out some adorable sandals for the 2 of them as well. I even picked up a few things for me! I love Target!
Paul took the day off today and we are all headed to Target today (oooooooooh). The kids need some stuff and I want to wander around.. it's in a H U G E strip center so I can hit BestBuy, Michaels, Babies R Us, Old Navy, etc... It's a nice day so we will walk the strip center. Ta ta for now!
A BIG thanks to Jason who sent me a bunch of JavaScript links. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! The instructor is tough but she seems decent. She is pretty no nonsense. But, surprisingly, JavaScript makes sense to me.. at least for now. Who knows, maybe one day, programming might be right up my alley.
Does anyone out there use geneology programs? Paul's uncle is doing the family tree and has done a wonderful job on it. I would appreciate any tips about how to get started. Any good programs? Recommendations?

The bonus to this class is that I can use my website from the previous class and "jazz" it up with pop ups, etc... what fun!
Oh God help me ...JavaScript is NOT easy. I hope I make it!
Well - it went from super sunny to super cloudy. It's now extremely windy and thundering. I hope the power doesn't go out. But, to be sure, I will be shutting down the computer. I will blog later from class. Bye!
Just got back from the College Bookstore. It was pretty quiet there - most people were off for Spring Break. The kids had a good time. They saw where I take my classes, saw some ducks. We stopped at the Performing Arts Building and looked at photographs of all the plays that were done there. We saw my sis in law and her boyfriend in a lot of those pictures. The kids were impressed! I had the AC on in the car - it was hot and sunny.
My Java class starts tomorrow night. Kinda psyched about it! Woohoo!

WHAT A DAY! Wow - I am pooped. Moira and her 2 buddies were here all day today. (2) 5 yrs olds, (1) 4 yr old and (1) 2 yr old. Let's just say I was busy ALL day! LOL! It was fun - the kids were great. Olivia was trying SO hard to keep up with the "big kids" - it was really cute. She did get knocked down a couple times and she also had the misfortune to walk BEHIND the swings a couple times and WHAM! Knocked down. Thank God she was ok. The poor kid can really take a hit! I took Moira and Brett out to Pizza Hut for dinner. They had both won coupons (from the school for a reading program) for free pan pizzas. Cool - cheap dinner! We get seated and ordered. Took a while to get the food but it FINALLY arrived. Just as the waitress started to unload the tray, I see my sauce fall (in slow motion, of course) and hit the floor. SPLAT! I feel a splatter of warmth on my left leg. I look down - sauce all over the floor AND my leg. My tan clad pant leg. With my new tan leather Etienne Aigner shoes on my feet. I whipped off my shoe (thank God for slides!) and inspected it, ignoring the apologetic waitress. Deep sigh of relief - the shoes are safe.. the shoes are safe. The pants? Well, hopefully the greasy orange "pizza" sauce stain will come out. If not, oh well. But - the shoes.... the shoes are safe.
I found out what caused the house fire on Sunday. An unattended candle. Scary.
Moira's playdate is on his way over. She also has a little buddy from up the street who also popped over. So - Moira and her 2 friends (both boys, by the way) will be here this afternoon. Oy. AND - Olivia wants to play with them too ::sigh:: God help me!
I *should* be going to bed.
Didn't do too much tonight. We all went to Walmart (ooh - the fun!) after Paul got home. Dumped a nice amount of $$ for what seems like nothing. I did pick up a couple cute things for the girls.. I saw these adorable denim capris for Moira that have daisies sewn on the hems. Very cute - she loved them! I made a bunch of copies of the Easter Bunny picture and will be sending them out to the family. The girls got a TON of candy - mostly gummy bears, worms, fish... ugh. I hate those things! Bleech! I MUST get my book for class - it starts on Wednesday. I will zip up there in the morning with the girls and then drive back up to class when Paul gets home. He doesn't get home early enough for me to buy it right before class. I did managed to wipe out my mountain of laundry.. I folded AND put away too! I am so proud of myself.

Ain't they the cutest?
Worst car of the Millenium - do you have it?
I have SO much work to do around here - my penalty for "slacking off" the past 2 days. I am have a MOUNTAIN of laundry :::groan:::. Speaking of mountain, did anyone else watch "The Ten Commandments" last night? Moira stayed up and watched most of it. We put her to bed right before scene where all the first born males die - including Ramses son. She wants to watch it again. I will have to get the DVD. I love Charleton Heston... and Yul Brynner ::sigh:: Say what you will about Heston - he's alwys working.
