Ok -
I think I have SOME time now ::teehee::
This past weekend was a blur.. Saturday I visited my Dad and Paul got called into work due to the earthquake that hit the NorthEast. On Sunday, I taught Sunday School, toured a Girl Scout camp where we might be sending Moira this summer. After that, Paul and Olivia headed home and Moira and I had a Girl Scout troop activity (gymnastics) from 430-530. Needless to say, the weekend passed quickly.
My Dad's procedure was scheduled for Monday.. and it was delayed until 4pm. He didn't get in until 5pm. His one blockage (the 98% artery) was so clogged that the doctors were unable to perform angioplasty. So - now Dad will be getting a triple bypass on May 2nd. The doctor says he is in excellent health and is a great candidate for the surgery. This way, the doctor can get all three blockages (98%, 88% and 80%).
Moira's soccer was cancelled due to the rain. Of course, it stopped raining by 3pm but the fields are SO soggy. I am sure they will clear up nicely for the Wednesday game/practice.
I have been working on my final for the past 3 nights. Oy - what a mess. I hope I pass. Actually - I am sure I will pass.. I just want to pass well! I have been gettign stuck on quite a few things but I have been muddling through most of the problems using my books and the Internet (thanks again for the links Jason!)

I want to clarify my statement below before I get slammed! ::grin::
I am anti-abortion. I believe that it *is* murder... no matter how you do say it. It's a baby. Before I had children, I was "Pro-Choice". Heck, I was ProChoice when I was pregnant. BUT - once I held my girls and looked into their eyes, the thought of abortion made me gag. Now - I do not go about burning buildings, shooting doctors or nurses, bombing clinics, etc.. People that are such extremists do scare me. Killing a person who performs abortion does not make sense to me either. I can see where there can be medical emergencies where a choice HAS to me made.. and that does make me sad. What an awful decision to have to make. And - God forbid in the cases of rape. There are women who have been raped and they do carry the baby and deliver. Granted - I can't imagine there would be many women that could (or would) do that. It's so hard not to judge I think what infuriates me are the people who just don't care..

OK - I want to scream!
I have been working on my JavaScript homework and final for the past 3 hours. I am just NOT getting it. I want to cry - I am SO freakin frustrated! Missing class last week really f'ed me up. The instructor.. well.. I think she can probably program her ass off but she's not too good at explaining it. I feel completely lost at this point.
Last night, I watched John Leguizamo's HBO special
Holy crap - I love this guy. It was SO raunchy and completely hysterical. :::sigh::: I think I am in love..
4/18/2002
I have to say this - dinner was DELISH tonight! I done good - the steaks were perfect! I made the kids Salisbury Steaks (they love those) with tater tots. I made a huge salad and threw in some Chinese noodles. The kids scarfed everything up tonight. I made Roasted Red Potatoes with rosemary.. they turned out pretty good. Paul didn't like them. The next time I make them, I will use garlic instead.
"Singin' in the Rain" is on now. I can watch that at any time. Prime Time pretty much sucks, in my opinion. Oh - I finally saw "Me, Myself, and Irene" last night on HBO. I laughed SO hard... oh my gosh. I have to buy it on DVD. If there's any uncut stuff, I want to watch that!
Mom just left a little while ago. She came down for lunch and to drop off a few things. She seemed pretty perky today.. I hope it lasts. She's going to IKEA on Saturday without me ::SOB:: So - I gave her a list of stuff to pick up for me!
Doea anyone want to come over and fold laundry for me? It's only 6 loads.. well.. actually 7, if you count the one in the washer. I'll cook dinner! ::looking hopeful:: Heck - I am grilling steaks tonight!
Heard from my StepMom -
Dad's procedure is finished. He has 3 blockages.. one of which is 98% blocked. He has to go back to the hospital next week for an angioplasty and stent on the 98% blockage. If that doesn't "take", he needs to have a bypass ::sigh:: Overall, the doctor was pleased that Dad was in such good health.. if he wasn't, well, things would have been a helluva lot worse. ::knocking wood:: He will also have to have the other 2 blockages taken care of soon.
4/17/2002
Olivia and I stopped at the local health food store. I found SO much stuff for her to eat! Woohoo! I found Tofu Ravioli - and it is very very tasty. I know it is good because she wouldn't eat any of it ::grin:: Seriously - it was pretty darn good. I bet most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. She did like the Potato Onion rings and has been munching on those. I guess I will be a regular visitor to this place!
Oh - did I mention that it is H O T.. like 91 degrees??!?!?!?!

Damn - no Big Game winner here ::grumble::
Winning numbers are:

Kind of a slow day for me around here... I cleaned the bathroom (such fun), did the dishes, even fed Olivia! I am going to pick Moira up at the bus stop and go vote in the school board election and vote against the new budget. These people spend money like frickin water. Morons. I can't WAIT until both girls are in school. Either Paul or myself will be on the board. It's so clique-ish now... disgusting. I know I would like to be on the PTA or SOME type of school organization. God - I never thought I would EVER say that! ::grin::
I am going to BBQ burgers tonight. Too hot for much else. I think I might make a pie or some fruit salad... not sure which. Maybe I will just buy some watermelon instead.. the kids would freak out. They both LOVE watermelon..
4/15/2002
Was up late last night working on my final.. It's mostly adding JavaScript to the webpage that I initially created in my Intro to HTML class. I completely empathize now with programmers - what a job.. all those brackets... and semicolons.... and parenthesis... and quotes... Arrghh! I was going blind looking at my page last night! ::smile:: But - I htink I got the hang of it... sorta..
Well - off to drive Moira to school... AGAIN!

You are the Presidental Barbie! While the rest of the world thinks the middle east is just where America goes to test out bombs, you actually realize it is an important section of the world. What's more, I bet you enjoy taking World Geography!! Politics are important to you. If you are a GOOD Presidential Barbie, you realize that the Green Party sucks.

Hello faithful and wonderful readers!
Had another busy day here at the homestead. I taught Sunday School today. While Moira and I were at church, Paul and Olivia went to Home Depot and got stuff for the yard and my garden. I will stop back there tomorrow with Olivia to buy some plants - YAY! My azaleas will be blooming soon. I will post pictures of them as soon as they bloom - they are gorgeous!
It's supposed to rain later tonight and tomorrow so Paul is putting down fertilizer and bug crap for the front yard. We are attempting to really take good care of our grass this year. It's been a little neglected.... I told Moira I wanted a new mailbox for Mothers Day. One of those all in one molded plastic types (like this one in black.) - the wood one I have looks like shit.

What a day! Moira had a gymnastics birthday party today at 330pm. Of course I hadn't purchased a gift for the birthday girl (who is just a sweetie) so Moira and I headed back to Target and bought Perfection, a Scooby Doo deck of playing cards and a little fuzzy purse with nail polishes and lip glosses in it. The party was very nice and the gymnastics center was HUGE and smelled like feet. There were at least 7 other parties going on at the same time.
Paul had gone to my Mom's with Olivia. She had purchased a DVD/VCR and needed Paul to connect it for her. So, he brought Shrek along to play. Mom cracked up - she loved Donkey. Heck - Olivia loves Donkey too!
By the time Moira and I got home, it was 6pm. Got the kids fed and Paul took them out back to run around for a while. We had to drag them in the house by 745 - it was pretty dark outside. The kids got baths, meds, teeth brushed, books read and finally in bed by 910pm. UGH! Paul and I are exhausted!

I saw on Rachel's blog that she was on a mission to find a particular lip color. I have found 1 that I really liked by Avon and it was discontinued.. I can't find it anywhere! Any good places online? I did the eBay and Yahoo search and came up with nada.
Oh - also forgot to add.. I purchased my book for the next class. The bookstore price was 39.99! So - I found it online at Discount-PC Books and the cost (including delivery) is $17.94! Woooohooo!
This whole story about Edward Lutes is a mess... I don't know whether to feel sorry for the bastard or not.
There are several articles about this incident:
Cop's bitter feud led to 5 murders, suicide
'It was like Vietnam,' wounded chief says from his hospital bed
Victims, killer once friends
Fiancee's death, other ordeals took their toll
It was a peaceful neighborhood . . . until 2 bursts of gunfire

BARNEGAT TOWNSHIP, N.J. (April 10) - A police officer wanted in a shooting rampage that left five people dead was found shot to death Wednesday, authorities said.
Edward Lutes, a Seaside Heights police officer for 15 years, was found dead in his car, Dover Township Deputy Chief Vincent Pedalino said.
The death appeared to be a suicide, Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Gregory Sakowicz said.
Oh my God - there was a shooting in Dover Township(a town about 20 miles north - Toms River). A Seaside Heights police officer shot and killed 5 people. He drove down to Barnegat (the town right next to mine) and shot and wounded his chief, who is, thankfully, in good condition. The chief lives on the same street as my girlfriend and her family. At Barnegat police headquarters late last night, police officers were seen arriving and leaving dressed in SWAT gear and carrying shotguns. The cop was the head of the SWAT unit - he is considered heavily armed and dangerous. So far, I have heard helicopters fly over my house no less than 5 times. I have also seen the police driving up and down my street. I am terrified. I will be driving Moira to school today. We will not be waiting at the bus stop.

Jeez - I haven't had a lot of time to blog lately : - ( Sorry guys!
GORGEOUS day here. WOW - I could get used to this. But - talk to me in 2 months and I will be bitching and moaning about the heat and humidity - HA! Paul is at a dinner that is honoring his Mom as Person of the Year. I couldn't get a sitter so the girls and I enjoyed a McDonalds dinner (ew) and had a relatively nice night. Paul is, I am sure, eating steak and potatoes - the lucky bastard!
My Dad called me earlier - he is having a stress test done tomorrow and he will be calling me after that. Hopefully, things will be fine.
We took away Olivia's pacifier ::sigh:: My poor baby. She has been asking for it for 2 days now. We planned out a "Bye Bye Patsy Party". She and I packed up the pacifiers in a little bag and set them aside for the "new baby" my sis in law is having in August. (NOTE - I am NOT giving away used pacifiers to my sis in law. That was just a ploy to fool my 2 year old) So - after we packed them up, I hugged her and told her she was SUCH a big girl and we would go to WalMart to buy a present for her to celebrate. That's where the PlayDoh (see yesterdays posts) came about. She loves PlayDoh - it must be tasty. Oh - she had another HUGE blue poop today too. God - talk about nasty! GAG! Anyway - the poor kid has been asking for her patsy (pacifier) every time she goes in to sleep (nap or bed time). I feel so frickin mean for taking it away but she has been chewing and pulling on it. Not good. It's time to break the habit. I wish we never started it but when she was so sick as a baby (due to her allergies and refluxing), it was the only damn thing that soothed her. Sheesh - now I am gonna cry. I am such a mean Mommy...

Expecting!
Ok - is it gross to even THINK about Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick having sex or is it just me? She is just so ... so.. BONY! How the hell did she even conceive?
Good morning!
I feel like I have neglected my blog.. but I have good reasons why! LOL! Mom came down yesterday morning with her car full of stuff, including Nana's jewelry box. My grandparents wedding anniversary is tomorrow. God - April sucks.
Moira goes back to school today - thank you sweet Jesus! She is being a booger this morning... dragging her feet and moaning "My stomach hurts" and "I don't want to go to school". Too bad! BUH bye. It looks like I will be driving her to school this morning since I got up about 15 minutes late. Crap. Well - actually - that's not such a bad thing. I have a ton of errands to do so Olivia will be eating her breakfast a la carte this morning. Moira starts soccer this week and it runs until mid-June. I have to buy her cleats since she out grew hers from the fall.
Well- I have to wake up the baby beastie and get her ready. I will catch up later. TA!

Well - Mom never made it down today. She wasn't feeling too well..poor Mommy. : - ( She should be down tomorrow. I had a very busy day today. I cleaned out 7 storage boxes full of kids clothes from the attic. I got 2 garbage bags full of clothes to give away. I have them all packed up and ready to go to a friend who has an adorable 1 year old little girl. The other boxes I consolidated, relabeled and retaped shut. Paul put them back up in the attic. He had also pulled down a bunch of boxes of my old clothes ::sigh:: too small :::BIG sigh::: Mostly old skirts, sweaters and sweatshirts. So, I stuffed them into 3 large garbage bags and will donate them to the local old/new shop.
I also rearranged the furniture around in my bedroom and vacuumed. UGH! Major dust bunnies! More like dust elephants. My bedroom seems a WHOLE lot bigger with the furniture being rearranged. My Mom will be bringing Nana's jewelry box down for me to use ::sigh:: Her birthday is coming up.. April 19th.
While I was doing all of that, Paul was at our neighbors, helping them move their storage shed to the opposite side in their yard. They are getting a pool and needed to rearrange their backyard, including moving the shed and swingset.
Lord - I am tired! I have church in the morning and I will be teaching Sunday School the following 3 Sundays. Ack. I need a vacation!
Don't you hate writing a long post to your blog only to have it disappear? Poof! Gone! Dagnabit ::muttering cusses::
Ok - let's start again. I had problems with Blogger last night and couldn't post. I hate that - grr! So, I decided that I would read my JavaScript book last night, in bed. Hahaha! I lasted about 20-25 minutes. I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I remember was jolting myself awake around 3am. Ooops! I dropped my books, pen and glasses over the side of the bed and went right back to sleep. LOL! Lights still on and everything.
My father in law was down here around 9am this morning to pick up some lawn equipment. I zipped out to ShopRite to pick up some bagels (the only kids KIND that Olivia can eat) and "cream cheese" by Tofutti. It's actually not too bad. They also have an online store - guess who will be doing some shopping?? Mom is coming down today with a bunch of things for my garden, including shasta daisies! YAY!

It's the Friday Five!
1. What are the first things that you do in the morning to start your day? MUST have coffee. I cannot function without my first cup. Then, I make breakfast for the munchkins. While they eat, I am reading my email. The computer is right next to the table. So, we all chat and eat breakfast
2. What are the last things that you do at night before going to bed? Shut down the computer.. check the locks and fire up the dishwasher.
3. What daily routine have you recently added to your day? Blogging and homework.
4. What routine do you wish you get rid of? Laundry - ugh!
5. What's the one thing that makes you feel like something is missing if you don't do it some point within your day? Probably taking some time to sit and read.. even if it's for a few minutes.
4/04/2002
We made it back in one piece today. Got home around 3-ish. Picked out the cutest little things for Olivia.. she really cleaned up. A lot of Moira's old clothes just don't fit her. It's pretty frustrating! I have a niece who is 16 months old who is practically wearing the same size as Olivia, who is a year older. Moira got some cute capri pants. She has a TON of tee shirts. We also picked out some adorable sandals for the 2 of them as well. I even picked up a few things for me! I love Target!
A BIG thanks to Jason who sent me a bunch of JavaScript links. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! The instructor is tough but she seems decent. She is pretty no nonsense. But, surprisingly, JavaScript makes sense to me.. at least for now. Who knows, maybe one day, programming might be right up my alley.
4/03/2002
Just got back from the College Bookstore. It was pretty quiet there - most people were off for Spring Break. The kids had a good time. They saw where I take my classes, saw some ducks. We stopped at the Performing Arts Building and looked at photographs of all the plays that were done there. We saw my sis in law and her boyfriend in a lot of those pictures. The kids were impressed! I had the AC on in the car - it was hot and sunny.
4/02/2002
WHAT A DAY!
Wow - I am pooped.
Moira and her 2 buddies were here all day today. (2) 5 yrs olds, (1) 4 yr old and (1) 2 yr old. Let's just say I was busy ALL day! LOL! It was fun - the kids were great. Olivia was trying SO hard to keep up with the "big kids" - it was really cute. She did get knocked down a couple times and she also had the misfortune to walk BEHIND the swings a couple times and WHAM! Knocked down. Thank God she was ok. The poor kid can really take a hit!
I took Moira and Brett out to Pizza Hut for dinner. They had both won coupons (from the school for a reading program) for free pan pizzas. Cool - cheap dinner! We get seated and ordered. Took a while to get the food but it FINALLY arrived. Just as the waitress started to unload the tray, I see my sauce fall (in slow motion, of course) and hit the floor. SPLAT! I feel a splatter of warmth on my left leg. I look down - sauce all over the floor AND my leg. My tan clad pant leg. With my new tan leather Etienne Aigner shoes on my feet. I whipped off my shoe (thank God for slides!) and inspected it, ignoring the apologetic waitress. Deep sigh of relief - the shoes are safe.. the shoes are safe.
The pants? Well, hopefully the greasy orange "pizza" sauce stain will come out. If not, oh well. But - the shoes.... the shoes are safe.
Didn't do too much tonight. We all went to Walmart (ooh - the fun!) after Paul got home. Dumped a nice amount of $$ for what seems like nothing. I did pick up a couple cute things for the girls.. I saw these adorable denim capris for Moira that have daisies sewn on the hems. Very cute - she loved them!
I made a bunch of copies of the Easter Bunny picture and will be sending them out to the family. The girls got a TON of candy - mostly gummy bears, worms, fish... ugh. I hate those things! Bleech!
I MUST get my book for class - it starts on Wednesday. I will zip up there in the morning with the girls and then drive back up to class when Paul gets home. He doesn't get home early enough for me to buy it right before class. I did managed to wipe out my mountain of laundry.. I folded AND put away too! I am so proud of myself.
4/01/2002
I have SO much work to do around here - my penalty for "slacking off" the past 2 days. I am have a MOUNTAIN of laundry :::groan:::.
Speaking of mountain, did anyone else watch "The Ten Commandments" last night? Moira stayed up and watched most of it. We put her to bed right before scene where all the first born males die - including Ramses son. She wants to watch it again. I will have to get the DVD. I love Charleton Heston... and Yul Brynner ::sigh:: Say what you will about Heston - he's alwys working.
